Inverclyde lies alongside the River Clyde, looking across at the broad reaches of the Scottish Highlands. The Quarrier’s Village, formerly a Victorian community of orphans, is now a Conservation Village and is well worth a visit. If you’re a history buff come along to Greenock, birthplace and home town of James Watt, the world famous inventor of the steam engine and a highly accomplished engineer.
